Corona Updated to Bring Support for iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0

It’s a big day for Corona. After being updated days ago to fix the DRM issues in iBooks, Saurik just tweeted that the untether has been updated yet again, this time to resolve problems with the iPhone 4S running iOS 5.
If you’re having problems with iBooks on your jailbroken device, you can install Corona directly from Cydia. If you’ve already installed Corona, you can simply update it via Cydia and you should be good to go.

Corona 5.0.1 Untether Updated to Fix iBooks DRM Issue

Couple days ago, RedSn0w was updated to fix the iBooks DRM issue where some images wouldn’t display properly, or wouldn’t even display at all. At the time, we noted that a Corona update shouldn’t be too far out.
Saurik just announced on Twitter that Corona has been updated to version 1.0-7 to fix those issues mentioned above…
Saurik noted that this fix is valid for every jailbroken device on iOS 5.0.1, except for iPhone 3GS old bootrom.
If you’ve already installed Corona, simply open up Cydia and update to the latest version. If you haven’t jailbroken your device yet, I recommend you use RedSn0w, which will provide you with a one-stop untether jailbreak.

Reminder:iPhone 4S & iPad 2 owners should update to iOS 5.0.1 for A5 jailbreak

Here to remind everyone again that iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners should update to iOS 5.0.1 asap, should they want to be able to jailbreak, when that A5 jailbreak is released.
According to recent reports, the Corona exploit has been patched in iOS 5.1. This means the upcoming jailbreak will probably work on iOS 5.0.1 only, and if Apple released iOS 5.1 before the jailbreak is released, then you might get out of luck and unable to jailbreak. BigBoss explains:

Apple is due to release 5.1 soon. When that happens, they will stop signing 5.0.1. This means you will only be able to restore to 5.1 . 5.1 breaks the upcoming jailbreak. If you are currently a 4s owner or an ipad 2 owner, you will want to get your device to 5.0.1 ASAP. This way when the jailbreak is released, you will be able to use it. If you do not restore to 5.0.1 now, in a few days when 5.1 is out, you may never be able to get from 5.0 to 5.0.1 and only option will be to wait again.

Also Thanks @xCharlie8x for warm Reminder to me days ago...

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak to Be Released Next Week

Great news for potential iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreakers. Infamous hacker pod2g confirmed a few hours ago that significant progress has been made on the jailbreak, and we should except it in a week if all goes well.
As you already are aware of, the untethered jailbreak for A4 devices, iPod touch, iPhone 4, etc. was released last week to much fanfare.
Now the only thing left to do is release an A5 (iPad 2, and iPhone 4S) jailbreak for the full enchilada…
I made a step today for the A5. With some luck we could expect a release in a week.
pod2g has been an amazing force in the jailbreak community, and this solidifies him as one of the most valuable members the community has seen thus far. Recently it was noted that he handed off the development of the A4 jailbreak to work more exclusively on the difficult A5 jailbreak.
It seems like it’s been forever since we had the first iPad 2 jailbreak, but a solution is literally right around the corner.
Stay tuned for more updates. Are you ready to finally have Cydia on your iPhone 4S? What about you iPad 2 users? What will you do to celebrate when it finally arrives?
