iPad 3 is coming Q3 2012

Digitimes claims that the next-generation iPad will launch in March with a thinner overall design and improved battery life. The catch is that Digitimes essentially calls this iPad update an upgraded iPad 2 rather than a full “iPad 3.” Interestingly, the publication says a real iPad 3 is coming Q3 2012. We find it highly  unlikely that Apple would launch a thinner iPad then a full “iPad 3″ upgrade only months later. We do think that the thinner, battery better life, and March launch components are strong possibilities, though. Faster processors (A6) and Retina Displays have also been rumored additions for the next-generation iPad.

Dev Team Posts Video of iPad 2 Jailbroken on iOS 5

Hot on the heels of MuscleNerd’s status update on the iPhone 4S jailbreak, a short video of the iPad 2 has surfaced showing the tablet jailbroken and running Cydia on iOS 5.
No ETA has been given for the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak, but we can only assume that a jailbreak will be released for all devices at once, meaning that you’ll be able to jailbreak A5 devices like the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as well as older generation iDevices…

Remember, the Chronic Dev Team is still working on a jailbreak, too. It’s not a race to see who finishes first, but we have to congratulate MuscleNerd and the Dev Team for making such progress.
We’ll let you know when more develops. In the meantime, don’t believe anything you see about an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak unless it’s from a trusted source.

TomTom Navigation App Gets Updated for the iPad

Today TomTom released an update to its iPhone app that adds an iPad version. This means that, with a 3G iPad, you can use your iPad as a turn-by-turn navigation device.
The app takes great advantage of the iPad’s screen real estate. The universal update was updated for all of the international TomTom apps, too.
This update also adds a couple of new features. It now has full support for iPhone 3G owners, improved maps, iPad optimization, and an improved interface. TomTom hasn’t commented on if it is going to release an iPad car mount, but that would certainly be a well-recived product.
You can download TomTom for $50 in the App Store. Prices range depending on the region of the world you want to purchase navigation for.

iPad 2 Smart Cover Security Flaw Discovered

Along with its products, Apple is well known for its trendy accessories. With the original iPad, there were the foldable iPad cases. And with the iPhone 4, it introduced the bumpers. Now with the iPad 2, we have Smart Covers.
The Cupertino company seemingly hit a home run with its magnetic snap-on covers for its latest tablet. But 9to5Mac is reporting that the accessory that was designed to protect the iPad 2, might also be harming it as well…
According to the report, anyone with a Smart Cover can break into your iPad 2, even if it’s password-protected. The flaw seems to be with iOS 5, but the site has been told that it’s also present in iOS 4.3. Watch this video of the exploit in action:

Although the security flaw wouldn’t give someone access to all of iOS, it would spell trouble if someone were to leave an app like Messages or Safari open. Expect to see Apple fix this in iOS 5.0.1. Until then, you might want to be extra careful with your tablet.
Can you replicate the security flaw on your iPad 2?

The 70″ iPad Screen

Think your iPad screen is too small? If you have $35,000(Rm105000) to spare, we might have the solution for you. It’s called PadZilla, and it’s made by a company called Crunchy Logistics.
It’s not totally clear how the PadZilla works, but it appears to act as an interactive accessory mounted on top of your iPad or iPhone, displaying everything on a giant multitouch screen…
And if 70″ still isn’t enough for you, they can make it in any size you want, up to 150 inches!

Angry Birds will never feel the same.

Girl Walking Around NYC With a Head Made of iPads

Gentlemen, let me introduce you to your dream woman. As part of a promotion for Cosmopolitan magazine, the “iPad head girl” has been spotted in the streets of New York City.
What makes the iPad head lady stand out is that.. well, her head is made of 4 iPads…
In order to promote the new Cosmo for Guys iPad-only magazineThinkmodo has put together a genius campaign that plays with the idea of a guy getting inside his girl’s head to learn what makes her tick.
“The concept and analogy here is to show a guy ‘getting inside a girl’s head’ and sort of ‘reading her mind’ by flipping through the magazine pages on the iPad. The reason for that is: it is the first magazine for men that is written by women, so for the first time women are letting guys in on what they think.”
The unnamed woman has 4 iPads fixed in a cube around her head, and each iPad displays the corresponding side of her outline. A hidden camera is also placed in her purse so that she can actually see where she’s going in downtown NYC. The overall concept is pretty awesome, and it looks incredibly intriguing on the streets. As you’ll be able to tell, the people of NYC agree.

Most of this “bystanders” are probably paid actors, but it’s a cool video nonetheless.
Here are some behind the scenes pictures of the shoot:
What do u Think? Cool?
